Business Insight Reports Tableau Online Migration

What are the Business Insight Reports?

The Business Insight Reports are a series of reports which provide insight into the performance of key metrics on your Marketplacer site. These reports are accessed through Tableau, an online visualisation tool.

What changes are being made to the Business Insight Reports?

We are changing the Tableau server which is used to house the Business Insight Reports. You will now access the reports via a login at Tableau Online, instead of the Tableau Server site. As a result, there will some changes to the way you access the Business Insight Reports. These changes are:

  1. Each Marketplacer customer will use a shared account to login. This means that everyone in the team will use the same login details.

  2. You will need to login to view the reports using a new URL location. The new location is https://sso.online.tableau.com/

Apart from the new login changes, there are currently no other visual changes to the Business Insight Reports. Over the coming months however, we will be making some improvements to the reports, which we are excited to share with you soon.

The migration to a new server will also impact any reports being delivered to your inbox by Tableau - see the separate FAQ below around this for details.

Why were the changes necessary?

The migration to a new server were necessary in order to improve the delivery of the Business Insight Reports to you. As part of the changes, you should notice a fresher user interface as well as shorter loading times for reports. Over time, we will introduce you to some other improvements to the reports.

How do the changes affect me?

You will now need to login to access the Business Insight Reports via a new URL: https://sso.online.tableau.com/. Your old login details for Tableau will no longer work. You will need to use new login details which are shared amongst your team. A primary user from your team has been notified directly on how to set up this login and then they have been asked to share the login details with all the users in your team.

How do I get my new shared login details?

A primary user has been nominated to set up the login details on behalf of all users in your team and then share the login details with you. This primary user has been notified directly and been given instructions on how to set up your shared account.

If you are not the primary user, you will have received an email from 3Sixty1 advising you of who the primary user is for your account. If they haven’t shared the login details with you as yet, please contact them directly to receive your login details.

Why do we have to share a login amongst our team?

During the transition to the new Tableau Online server, 3Sixty1 has to migrate a large number of users and groups. To ensure no downtime for any users, we ask that you share one login amongst your team whilst we work to establish all the user and group protocols. Once the transition is complete, we can issue more logins within your team if required. Please contact us at support@3sixty1.zendesk.com if you think you will require a separate login from the rest of your team once this transition period is complete (the period is expected to be around 2-3 weeks).

I am the primary user for our account and have to set up our team user account. What do I have to do?

You should have received an email from Tableau Online which contains a link to follow to set up your account. If you haven’t received this email, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still can’t find it. please contact us at support@3sixty1.zendesk.com. Once you have set up your account, it is your responsibility as the primary account holder to share the login with the users in your team so they can access the reports too.

Will there be any outages as part of the migration?

We do not anticipate any periods where you will not be able to access the Business Insight Reports. However you might notice intermittently that some individual reports are not available. Please contact us at support@3sixty1.zendesk.com if you have any issues accessing a particular report. Some users may notice that Google Analytics reports are no longer available.

I get some reports emailed to my inbox. Will the changes affect these emails?

Yes, any email subscriptions that were set up on your previous account will no longer work. You will need to set these up again once your new account is set up. Please note though that as this is a shared login, only the primary user will receive these emails. Please contact us at support@3sixty1.zendesk.com if you think you will require a separate login from the rest of your team so that you receive reports directly to your own email address.
